Homemade nut butter. Guys. I should have jumped on this train a LONG time ago because…it’s DELICIOUS. They’re so many combinations you can make too. I started out with cashew butter because I like to rotate through my nut butters. I have tried making nut butters in my food processor, but it just took TOO long. In the vitamix, it’s just SO simple to make!
We just got the vitamix a few months ago after my old blender blew out and it’s SO worth the investment. We’ve been making almond milk too…which is my next thing to share with you! If you’re on the fence and feel like it’s intimidating making your own nut butters or nut milks, don’t be! Just try and you’ll be hooked!
I do love buying nut butters too, but the specialty ones are so expensive. Trader Joe’s is always reliable, but I wanted a cashew butter that didn’t have sunflower oil in it. We’re trying to stick to a Whole 30 type diet for this month, so making my own was worth it!
[print_this] Salted Cashew Butter
- 2 cups raw cashews
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
Combine all ingredients in your vitamix or food processor. Turn vitamix on and slowly get it up to level 10. It should take about 1- 1.5 minutes to get nice and creamy.
